Vocational Experience
With the goal to have the students experience a balanced education of bone and brain, practical and theoretical, Heritage Academy makes provisions for all students to spend part of each day gaining vocational training and experience. Classes are arranged so students have three to four hours in the morning or in the afternoon for vocational training. All vocational training assignments and requests for changes are made through the training coordinator.
Vocational Grade
Time spent in the vocational training program has no cash value as it it considered an invaluable part of a balanced education and invaluable in developing the characteristics of leaders. Students are graded on their performance, which is evaluated on a monthly basis and this grade is given by their vocational supervisor. The supervisor reviews the student’s vocational performance against a continuum of vocational skills and character traits. We offer a vocational transcript in addition to the grade transcript so that the student can show a work resume documenting experience in various vocations and the time spent in each of them.
